Keyboard Navigation

The humble keyboard. Some people love them, some people hate them. Some are silent, some are clacky. Some are big, some are small. Some don’t even look like keyboards.
Keyboards are important and you need to test your website and applications with them. Don’t worry, if you have any keyboard you can test.
There are only a few keys you will need to use:
- TAB
- ENTER
- Space bar
- Arrow keys
- ESCAPE
Hit the TAB key to navigate between links. Use ENTER or space bar to activate the link. Use the arrow keys to navigate mega menus, drop downs, and tabs. The ESCAPE key should close open menus and dropdowns.
It is important to hit TAB from the top the page to the bottom. Check to make sure it seems logical, especially if you have any tabindex set on anything on the page.
